Welcome to Understanding the 6 Scalp Health Course
Meet Your Instructor, Lindsey Bagent
With more than 20 years in the beauty industry, I know that hair is never “just hair” As a salon owner, mom, and wife, I value connection, trust and helping clients feel confident in their own skin.
I’ve always had a passion for understanding the “why” behind hair and scalp concerns and believe education is key to creating real, lasting results. This is one of the reasons I decided to become a certified scalp/hair practitioner, as well as a certified scalp and hair health educator. Being able to extend my knowledge beyond just coloring and cutting, supporting my clients on a deeper level has been so rewarding. Helping to identify concerns, provide guidance, and create personalized solutions that go beyond traditional salon services.
My approach blends experience, care, and a commitment to my clients overall well-being. My goal is not only providing services for beautiful hair outcomes, but helping clients truly understand their hair, and provide them with the appropriate knowledge on what specific issues they may be dealing with. This is just as important as the final result.
Trich-o-what?
Essentially, Trichology is just the study of the hair and scalp. Certified specialists (trichologists) are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions that affect the scalp and hair, such as thinning, shedding, oily or dry scalp, dandruff and more.
The approach is considered ‘holistic’ because it takes into consideration multiple factors that can contribute to these conditions, including lifestyle, nutrition, stress levels and overall wellbeing, in addition to hair products and chemicals.
Why Does Scalp Health Matter?
Good scalp health promotes hair growth and defends against hair loss and/or thinning
A balanced scalp microbiome reduces symptoms like itchiness and flakiness
Consistent oxygen flow and circulation builds strong, healthy hair by supporting follicles
